How to Write and Publish a Totally Unique Email Newsletter to Tens of Thousands of Subscribers in 20 Minutes or Less

The InternetTIPS.com email newsletter speed publishing method outlined in this article uses:

  • A Joomla-powered website.
  • Content you have already created.
  • The low-cost Acajoom Pro newsletter publishing Component.

Some Benefits of Using the InternetTIPS.com Email Newsletter Speed Publishing Method

  • Rather than write new content for your newsletter, you can use website content you already have available. Website content can mean articles, images, audio files, video clips or a mix of all these content items. Using your existing content can also give your at least a 2:1 direct return. How: for each content item you create, you can use the item both on your website and in your newsletter for zero extra effort. Tip: if you opt to also use some of your content in additional ways, you can ensure a 3, 4, or even 5:1 return. For example: you could submit some content articles to various article directories on the web. Or swap content with another website, or another ezine publisher; and so on.
  • When you choose to include only the headline links of the relevant articles rather than the articles themselves, you:
    • Provide a clue as to what the content item is about and so allow your subscribers to decide whether they want to read further. Subscribers who are especially busy appreciate that you give some thought to the value of their time. When you don't force subscribers to read each and every content item to determine what is valuable to them, they're more likely to remain as a subscriber and be open minded to what you may suggest.
    • Shorten both the length of your newsletter and reduce its file size. A shorter newsletter helps keep the current ezine edition file size down. Smaller file size helps speed up ezine delivery and lessens the chances that subscriber ISP filters will prevent your newsletter being delivered.
    • Still provide the equivalent value of a full content item or article.
    • Reduce the likelihood of including words in your newsletter that could trigger Spam filters. Some words and phrases that may be fine for use on a website, yet if those same words and phrases are used in an ezine to be delivered by email, may trigger Spam filters and so prevent your newsletter getting through to the intended recipient.
    • Tease your readers, create curiosity and heighten interest. If you write headings for content articles in creative ways, you can encourage readers to choose article headline links and therefore visit your website. When more users visit your website, increased viewing numbers can open up additional income options.
    • Provide links that go directly to your website. That means, your readers may then explore additional sections of your website that are not directly related to your newsletter content items. That means, each time a subscriber visits your website, you have another opportunity to build relationships, do more business, create additional sales, run polls and surveys to discover new areas and topics that interest your subscribers, visitors, clients and customers; and so on.
  • You can create an email newsletter with a professional touch quickly, easily and reliably.
  • You can include commands to personalize each newsletter to address the first name of each recipient.
  • You're not required to use any additional software.
  • Using our speed method, although your recipients receive your newsletter by email, you don't actually use any PC email software application to send your newsletter. Instead, the InternetTIPS.com email newsletter speed publishing method uses the the power of your website hosting server to actually publish and send your newsletter to each subscriber.
  • As soon as you choose the single command to send your prepared newsletter, your work is done. How: your web hosting server essentially sends your latest newsletter to each recipient automatically, whether you're connected to the Internet or not.

Some Drawbacks of Using the InternetTIPS.com Email Newsletter Speed Publishing Method

  • The key to publishing success with this method is to use pre-prepared content. That means, you must create or provide new content on a regular basis and make your content ready before you write and send your ezine. However, informative, new, unique content for any website is valued highly by search engines like Google. When prepared well, website content can only enhance your web presence. Soon, InternetTIPS.com membership will include a database of 9,000 pre-written articles that members can edit, enhance and lay claim as the author. That means, for InternetTIPS.com members, content creation can become even easier than ever.
  • You'll need a website that is powered by the Joomla web content Management System, already set up and installed. Although perhaps a drawback, we believe Joomla-powered web publishing is an asset that pays back many times. What's more, if you're using an InternetTIPS.com-supplied website, you'll most likely already have a Joomla-powered website already set up and ready to use.
  • You'll need an Acajoom Pro Component for Joomla installed and set up. At the time of writing a single site license costs about $80. Acajoom Pro has been tested successfully using tens of thousands of subscribers. If you're publishing to a list with hundreds of thousands, or more, subscribers, you'll most likely benefit from using a dedicated list manager such as provided by Lyris. Most InternetTIPS.com supplied websites now include an Acajoom Pro newsletter Component as standard.

Publish Your Ezine in 18 Easy Steps

Here's the sequence we use:

  1. Decide which 3 or 4 articles headline links you want to make available from the content available on your website. 3 or 4 additional links is a reasonable number considering that a subscriber may be prepared to devote 5 - 15 minutes reading time to your newsletter.
  2. Open a new Microsoft Windows Notepad window - to use as a temporary draft text creation window. Why use Windows Notepad and not Microsoft Word? Answer: the goal here is to create a few paragraphs of text with no formatting commands embedded, so that when you copy and paste into your new newsletter application, the process is quick, easy and painless. Since Windows Notepad is an ideal "plain text editor" and comes with Microsoft Windows, the software performs the role perfectly. Tip: When working with technology, whenever possible, keep it simple.
  3. Write a few introductory paragraphs in Windows Notepad that introduce your content items to follow.
  4. Save the temporary draft on the Windows desktop.
  5. When ready, log into the website Content Management System (CMS) administration area.
  6. Open up the Acajoom Pro newsletter Component.
  7. Create a new newsletter issue using the prepared template.
  8. Copy and paste the draft content made during Step 3 into the new newsletter issue window.
  9. Choose the 3 or 4 additional content items you established in Step 1 from the list of all content items shown.
  10. Spell-check everything. Edit as required to fix any errors, then save your draft newsletter issue. Do not choose the Send command or button at this stage.
  11. Use the Preview command to send one preview newsletter issue to our own email address, so that you can check exactly how your newsletter appears when delivered by email.
  12. Visit your email program or Internet Service Provider webmail account to open up the preview version of your newsletter and copy all of the text used to the Windows clipboard.
  13. Open a new window or tab in your web browser and go to the Lyris Filter Checker. Paste the newsletter content into the box. Enter your other details. You can enter your own name and contact details as the recipient. Then click the button to check for any Spam words or phrases. After a few seconds, the Lyris results page displays with a summary score.
  14. If required, edit the text to remove any Spam trigger words or phrases, then perform Step 13 again to ensure that no Spam trigger words and phrases remain within your text.
  15. Once your text is clear of any Spam filter trigger words and phrases, copy the entire "clean" text to the Windows clipboard. Paste into your draft Windows Notepad window you created in Steps 3 to wipe over the original content. Save for reference.
  16. Go back to your new newsletter issue within your Content Management Website and edit the relevant text to match your saved draft in Step 14.
  17. Run a final spell-check and fix any errors.
  18. Send the now fully prepared newsletter to your email list using newsletter Component Acajoom Pro.

Although we've outlined the process above in 18 Steps, with a little practice, the complete sequence usually takes less than 20 minutes. You can also modify the sequence we suggest above to better match the method to your style of working.
