Google Video

Until relatively recently, viewing a video clip reliably on the Web has often been a patchy experience, to say the least, compared with simply playing a DVD. However, the rapid increase of availability and take-up of broadband speed Internet access around the world, suggests that we've now reached a "tipping point" with web video. Viewing and downloading prepared video clips using a broadband / ADSL connection now provides good results.

Perhaps that's why on January 6, 2006 Google ramped up their Google Video Store, introducing one of the first open video marketplaces.

Google Video enables a visitor to search, buy and rent a growing range of video content and transcripts from some of the world's leading television networks, news programs, sports providers, cable networks, and independent film and video producers.
