Google Base

Google Base offers an easy way to submit all types of offline and online content.

Benefits include:

• Cost: at the time of writing, submitting content to Google Base is free.
• If your information is accepted by Google, hosting is arranged by Google Base.
• You can catalog your information using attributes.
• Your Google Base information is made searchable online.
• Items included in Google Base may also be included in other Google properties, such as the main Google Search index, Google Product Search, Froogle and Google Local.
• If you have more than 10 items to submit to Google Base, you can submit your items as a datafeed using any of the following formats: TSV (Tab delimited), RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0 Atom 0.3, and Atom 1.0.
• Google Base can accept an astonishing range of file formats when you submit as attachments using a web form. You can attach up to 15 digital files and formats include: PDF (.pdf), Microsoft Word (.doc), Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt), Microsoft Excel (.xls), Text (.txt), HTML (.html), Rich Text Format (.rtf), Word Perfect (.wpd), ASCII, Unicode and XML.
• When submitting using a web form, you can submit images that relate to your files in JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIF and BMP formats.
• You can submit a total file size of up to 20Mb.
• Google Base could offer another way to advertise your business, products or services. Early adopters may stand to benefit most.
