Welcome To The Fifth Revolution

What you're about to view makes sober reading! At least five modern revolutions have already started - and the fifth one has only just been born. Yes, of course, the new baby has arrived. So what is it and where did it come from? To answer that, let's backtrack a little first. Each of the following developments began with a stock market bubble that soon after burst, followed by a long period of steady growth. The details below outline the key periods:

  • Industrial revolution (1760 - 1820).
  • Railways (1825 - 1875).
  • Steel production and electricity generation (1875 - 1920).
  • Manufacturing (1910 - 1970).

Now we can add one more:

  • The Internet (1969 - thankfully, no end date in sight: ask Captain Kirk).

Our new - and in historical terms, the Internet is new - "baby" may well grow sooner than we might think to be far bigger than all of the other previous revolutions combined - I mean REALLY huge!

With the usual fluctuations of the stock market happening, I know this is not a popular idea right now; stay with me and I'll explain my case.

Here's why I think the Net is heading for big gains - over say the coming 20 years.

We've had the bubble and perhaps not surprisingly, it burst. Now as I write this in 2002 (and updating in 2003) we're just entering the starting phase of steady sustainable growth. As a global economy, we'll probably experience some more ups and downs; some more mini-bubbles and mini-bursts - just like life.

Yet, the only way possible for savvy Internet-driven businesses, is up - providing we have learned the lessons of the past.

Key point: whatever state of the global economy, the Net is designed to function - and function well it does! Any system originally designed to operate after global thermonuclear war, has got to have something extra hasn't it?

My personal opinion based on working with this thing every day for years, is now that the initial hype-driven times are behind us at least for a while, there's a slow wave of sensible, continuous, sustainable growth starting to happen, driven by people who:

  • Know about how to make businesses work and if they're still in business, those canny souls ...
  • May well have already had some painful experiences from the last 2 years to remember.

These people are now learning quickly how to use the Internet, and...

...We ain't seen nothin' yet folks!

You can almost hear it - the anticlimax I mean.

Why?

This "wave" won't seem like a wave at all, as the Net looks to just merge, perhaps almost imperceptibly, into the mainstream of global communications - finally!

The promise of combining television, telecommunications and phone technology is at last starting to become reality. Without doubt, in my opinion, the Internet promises to be the biggest driver our world has ever experienced!

So why the positive outlook now?

What makes such a big difference? Answer: in a word: information.

Key point: the previous four developments created physical products whereas the Internet is primarily all about sharing knowledge and information - as well as saving costs for traditional businesses. Naturally, growth is only just starting.

Forrester Research, one of the most respected technology trend forecasters, suggests in one study that online business is set to more than triple reaching $7 trillion by 2006.

However respected the source, we all know that sometimes, times can change quickly when our world is often driven by moods and whims. And of course, "they" - whoever "they" may be - can simply get "it" wrong.

The real point is though, a huge number of transactions are already taking place on the Net daily, and the number is growing every day.

For traditional businesses, too much money is already being saved - and made - to ignore the Net, and other businesses are only just starting to learn that to make best use the Internet, we have to change the way we do things - and the way we treat people, or learn from the pain that follows!

What's all this got to do with me you might reasonably ask?

The fact that you're reading this suggests that a light bulb may have just switched on in your subconscious. Something more than just coincidence or idle curiosity has made you read this far.

Is that the whispering voice of your intuition prompting you; asking why shouldn't you be a part of this phenomenon in some way?

And why not?

If so, how can you benefit?

Answer: listen up and listen well, if you read nothing else in this article, read this: most people - and that probably includes you - have unique knowledge, insights and experience that may have special value to someone else.

I never cease to be amazed at the kind of knowledge so-called "ordinary" people have to offer, yet many put little or no value on what is sometimes, a lifetime's work. Extraordinary!

In a nutshell:

  • If you package these gems at a fair price, in a range of delivery options, more and more people have the opportunity to buy your solutions to their problems.

That's about as hype-free as it gets isn't it?

Key point: today, writers, editors, newsletter publishers, and e-commerce website providers have many low-cost options open to them, yet often, the dragging power of inertia, simple ignorance combined with an almost inbuilt resistance to change, seems to compel most to continue in the old ways - many of which don't work effectively in today's Web 2.0-driven Internet.

In some ways, this archaic view is good news - for those who are prepared to try new options.

Why? You'll have less competition.

Key Tip: if you do it right, you'll have no or little competition. You can learn about that technique within the member area of InternetTIPS.com.

There are lots of people available to help you.

We run our Internet business from a Scottish island using only a standard phone line and a "slow" broadband Internet connection - this is done deliberately, so we always know what's possible for most people.

WARNING: New writers especially, listen up...

Most people still aim to get published using "traditional" ways. Why? Answer: perhaps because of:

  • Hype, and ...
  • What I call "Herd-think."

Here's how the traditional (yet flawed) logic goes.

Example: "If other 'experts' are doing it this way, it must be right, Yes?"

Answer: No, No, No!

These following few sentences distill what InternetTIPS.com is all about: If most people are already using Method A, as a matter of course, we would suggest you choose or create a Method B.

If most people are already using Methods A and B, we suggest you choose or create a Method C. And there is always a Method D, E, F, and so on to be found. Get it?

Differentiate yourself! That's this entire article summarized down to one phrase, two words

So why do we suggest what is often the opposite of conventional wisdom? Answer: you must be unique to succeed and continually be on the look out for new ways of solving a problem - especially on the Net. Almost always, this means being willing to test out new ideas.

You can compare this contrarian approach to those few savvy Stock Market investors who have become rich beyond their wildest dreams.

Often, these people are buying while most are scrambling to sell and vice versa. Whatever you may think of the Stock Market, the judgment of these often quiet, focused people is not in question.

Likewise at InternetTIPS.com, we simply avoid herd-think and instead apply savvy gray matter techniques and tools in a strategic effort to get the results our Members, clients and we ourselves seek.

Furthermore, if you enter a traditional publisher's "Slush Pile", you've already lost (because that's what most everyone else is doing).

Trust me, never, ever do anything that gets you into the Slush Pile!

Why?

Answer: you're chances of getting out are slim. The remedy is just as simple (yet so elusive for many): don't play the Slush Pile game - ever. Period!

So what can you do?

First, accept the simple idea that most people are wrong most of the time. That's why most folks are not rich or happy or fulfilled. We've all done it: it's not a crime to be wrong, just misguided. The good news is, we can all learn new ideas: we just need an open mind - and that's easy!

Second: change the rules of your "game". How: you create new "rules".

Change the game

Instead, create your own new game set with your own rules, by understanding and applying your value in different ways. For example:

  • Get creative.
  • If what you're doing isn't working - stop!
  • Think differently. Slow down - so you can eventually speed up.

There are quite a few ways in which you can re-package your special knowledge. InternetTIPS.com Website Entrepreneur Success Club (IWESC?) will be examining the key themes - that's part of what we are about - and provide tools and methods in which you can sell what you know, and I'm not just talking ebooks here - Membership Web sites like this one can offer wonderful benefits - providing you make the right choices.

Life may provide us with a variety of options, yet usually, there are only three ways to make enough money to live beyond J.O.B. (Just Over Broke):

  • Inherit or be given a fortune (nice sometimes, perhaps, but often destructive).
  • Play the dice or get lottery-lucky (For most, this too can be self-destructive. What's more, at odds of probably more than 14 million to 1, I'm not even going to bother to comment further on this approach).
  • Create a profitable business - and, most importantly, one that doesn't own you. Now we're talking: this is our baby - otherwise, you're really just working at a job again.

Establishing a conventional small business in the UK today from scratch usually requires at least ?100,000 or more, just to get started with "bare bones."

Then you'll need premises, stock, staff, tools..., the list goes on and on - so do the problems; just ask any overworked self-employed traditional business owner steeped in a "traditional" business.

Also, you'll probably have to make sure you meet a growing list of legislation, directives, and so on...

My USA-based friends tell me a similar story over there. Arguably, the over burdensome "paperwork" hurdles are even worse in the EU!

So what's the answer; a remedy?

Here Ya go in two simple steps:

  • Think twice before buying into the traditional options. Ask yourself truly: is that what you really want?
  • Simplify - and opt for a low-cost e-business instead - just remember to choose your support sources carefully - there's a lot of nonsense out there! We've spent months researching and years learning, and now we're sharing what we know.

Compare a "traditional" business to that of my preferred e-business model on the next page.

After months of research and testing, I know of no other business model that can offer these incredible benefits:

  • Is ethical and adds genuine value to the world.
  • No staff required (unless you want to expand).
  • No advertising costs necessary (though some kinds of advertising can be worthwhile when first starting out).
  • No postage costs (unless you want to sell physical products, then you can include those costs in your product price, so no problem).
  • No inventory or stock holding required.
  • No printing necessary.
  • No promotional materials required.
  • No conventional mail-outs necessary.
  • No desktop publishing costs involved.
  • No commercial office required - a home office or workspace is perfectly adequate.
  • No waiting for payment - you can get paid online, instantly!
  • No special qualifications or experience required to get started - you can learn all you need to know as you go along.
  • Comes with a built in, automatic sales system.
  • Automatic follow-up.
  • Open for business 24/7/365.
  • Runs itself, even when you're not working.

I and my associates are setting up shop to help a few members establish their own low-cost, web business selling what they know broadly based on the "simpler" e-business model above.

We're putting together some web packages that are especially suitable for online newsletter publishers and those who want to set up a variety of different kinds of website including those for:

  • E-commerce / shop selling either digital or physical goods and services.
  • Advertising-financed.
  • Memberships, charities or clubs.
  • Portal, community and discussion forum-driven websites.

We'll show you how build it all yourself from scratch, or if you have some spare financial resources available you can take the fast track and ask us to build a site like this one for you. Email me if you're interested. Why: because I'm a writer too, and that's what we writers do: we write, discuss and share knowledge and ideas - and the Web is really just another writing and publishing medium.

The difference is, I'm one of the new breed of writers who make use of new technology "to the max", to expand our reach, make more money and aim to have more free time. Oh, and did I mention, this is such great fun! Remember: the fun part is just as important to your success.

So what about wealth?

That's a reasonable question: glad you asked :-) Want to learn how to be successful, free and wealthy? I'm not just talking about money here - remember, wealth comes in many different forms. Example: having enough free time to do what you want is a special kind of wealth; peace of mind is another. What you achieve in any endeavor though is always up to you.

My own definition of success is being in a position to live life on my own terms, serving people in the field I enjoy - and you certainly don't need a million dollars or more to do that (but with our approach, the odds of achieving outrageous financial success are stacked in your favor).

You can even do what I do using a notebook PC, living in an RV and traveling around your favorite locations across the world. Just "plug in" to the Internet when required.

Whatever level and type of wealth you want, it all starts and ends with having the right knowledge coupled with a positive, self-motivated attitude. What's more, it certainly helps to have a few experts that are easily accessible doesn't it?

If you're reading this key title, some membership places are still available and I invite you to join InternetTIPS.com now, to discover genuine, new, hype-free and sensible ways to benefit from this new Internet frontier.

We're accepting only a limited number of Members

Why? There's simply an upper limit on the quantity of people with which I and my associates can effectively help and work with at any specific time. If I go beyond this upper limit, I fall victim of my own success and end up working way too hard, and that's not what the "the InterenetTIPS.com Way" is all about.

Instead, I'm promoting and building on the idea to members of creating a better quality of life, working fewer hours, doing something we really enjoy, yet still earning more money (because we know we're worth it) - now that's progress.

You've read almost to the end of this article - so that fact alone is telling you something important: my guess is you're serious at least about of what I've been discussing in this article and on this web site - and I would hate for you to miss out because I didn't try hard enough to put over the benefits, so why not take a small risk and join me in the "Fifth Revolution".

    If you're:

Enjoy the prosperity that awaits you!
