How to Ensure Your Website Users Can More Reliably Contact You Through Your Website

Whether you see yourself as a website owner, web business provider, communicator, author, writer, presenter, e-publisher, or indeed all of those job roles put together, you'll want to ensure that your website visitors and subscribers can reliably contact you by email. However, if you include traditional email links on your web page, many of your contacts may naturally choose to click your traditional email links to start their email program and open a new email message window. Yet, when they send their message to you, there's a chance that their message may get lost in your Internet Service Provider (ISP) Spam filters.

Here's one way that can prevent your message going astray. Apply the following four guidelines:

  • Don't use traditional email links on your website. Use a web contact form system such as that outlined below. Also, Spam-bots can harvest traditional / unprotected email links on a website, then, you'll most likely be Spammed you until you squeak. If you opt for an InternetTIPS.com-CMS-designed site such as the type we use here at InternetTIPS.com, then you won't need to use conventional "Contact us" email links (though you're still free to do so if you prefer).
  • Do use a web contact form that is properly configured and set up - ideally powered by "smart" web Content Management System such as Joomla! Why? A properly set up website contact form system should ensure that the contents get through to you, while conventional email messages can get lost in ISP Spam filters. Web contact forms like Joomla-powered websites can also include CAPTCHA technology to reduce automatic web form entry by Spam bots. Again, with an InternetTIPS.com-CMS-designed website, a smart "contact us" web form system comes built in as standard.
  • Once you have your web contact form system set up as above, tell your visitors and subscribers that the most reliable way for them to contact you by email is to use your website contact form rather than use conventional email.
  • Make sure you add your own website domain name to your Internet Service Provider white-list, or set up a specific email filter to ensure that your email communications get through. For example, we ensure that anything sent using our contact web form to @internettips.com gets filtered automatically.
