Welcome to InternetTIPS.com v3.0

We're almost ready to go live - Yippee! I say "almost" with a big question mark. What I really mean is, getting InternetTIPS.com ready in addition to working on regular client web design projects is quite a challenge. However, a considerable amount of content has been ported over from InternetTIPS.com v2.0 site, updated, edited, with much new content added. So even though we still have much to add, I would rather we get started with InternetTIPS.com v3.0 now, rather than to wait for the ever elusive "100% completion" heading.

In a sense, that leads me on to my key tip for this blog entry.

Key tip 1: when launching a website, I recommend that you go live as soon as possible. Why: you'll never ever get your site "perfect" or "100% complete". Furthermore, no active website should ever be complete - you'll fair better if you add new, valuable content on a regular basis. If your content entry is about 90% complete, that's most likely a good time to go live. You'll then have your site live and you'll focus closely on the new site.

Key tip 2: when you make a new website live, I recommend that you consider going "soft live" first. By "soft live", I mean make your site available to the general public or your intended audience, but don't publicize your new site actively. After you go "soft live", you'll have a few days to:

  • Check out your new site in detail within a live environment.
  • Deal with any unexpected problems.
  • Repair any obvious dead links.
Once you have dealt with the new site "gremlins", then you can make a splash to publicize and market your new website.

InternetTIPS.com "Soft Live" Plan

That's why during the next few days, we'll follow our own advice too. We'll:

  • Copy over remaining older content during the next few weeks.
  • Also add new content on a regular basis. We have hundreds - even thousands - of useful, relevant and valuable topics to cover.
Thank you to existing members and subscribers for your seemingly endless patience - you're all stars, but more than that, you've taught us all here at InternetTIPS.com more about "staying true" than we could ever learn otherwise.

Our primary goals now are:

  • Not to disappoint.
  • To exceed expectations.
  • To provide considerably more value than any InternetTIPS.com subscription costs.
We still have a lot to do so will work on each task ASAP.

During our first few days of going live with InternetTIPS.com, we'll have some site gremlins to deal with. We'll also add some key links that really can only be added once we go live. Therefore, if you discover a dead link, please be patient: within a day or two, we hope to have them all fixed. Thanks again for your patience.

In the meantime, please explore this new Web 2.0 website. If you haven't already done so, please register, then check out the forum and say hello. Also, any feedback on the site that you would like to share will be most welcome - that's how we improve.

See on the live side.
