Update September 7, 2015: originally, at the time of writing this blog entry, the makers said TheGrid was about to be released! However, to-date, TheGrid is still not fully ready to go live yet.
Expectations and hype, maybe: an uncomfortable marriage perhaps. Yet the task list is a mighty one. AI must be so much more complex than initially envisioned.

So what is so potentially special about TheGrid? One big problem with many website systems today is that we can spend countless hours - sometimes days - making technical changes, even before we think about how to craft engaging content.
- Changes made can break a website in seconds in, Oh so many ways!
- Unless you put in the time to learn how to "drive" your website, the cost to fix what becomes broken can reveal its own special nightmare.
- What is changed may not appear to be broken, until you check how your website rankings have plummeted.
- The complexity involved in securing your website can be especially hard.
All of those challenges above - and many more - come on top of the business of promoting and building a web business. Now, there may be a solution, suitable for some people who are open to speculating, testing, and taking a balanced, sensible, calculated risk.
A Playful Exploration Into What AI Generally Could Mean To Us
AI is going to get applied to helping overcome a huge number of problems that humanity has today: of that, I am sure.
However remember, when starting off, Artificial Intelligence can seem like a drunken gibbering idiot when compared to the more refined nuances and decision making abilities that may be present within a curious, informed, accomplished, even sensitive human mind.
Eventually however - sooner rather than later - Artificial Intelligence may learn from its mistakes at a rate so fast that can seem incredulous to us today, and match or even excel the most human of creations.
At its best, AI may emerge as the best of human nature. At its worst, humanity may disappoint AI to such an extent that we are deemed irrelevant. In this scenario, the child turns on its parents, outcome unknown.
My best guess today: when Artificial Intelligence works well, we can be amazed and enthralled. When AI goes bad, we have a problem. Perhaps the first few versions of an AI product produce results somewhere between those two extremes.
Later AI versions will fix their own shortcomings automatically. For now, as far as the website creation arena is concerned, we wait and wonder and ponder and hope with a beguiling mix of mild curiosity, a little fear, and a huge chunk of doubt. Have we heard hype before? Yes, of course we have.
Nevertheless, we are indeed such things as dreams are made of, and positivity is in the air.
That's why, TheGrid may turn out to be so powerful, such a game changer, that it could change the very nature of how we all create websites. All TheGrid has to do is to replicate and massively improve upon the efforts of the best web designers and developers on the planet. So no problem then, yes? Do you hear laughter?
Plus of course, there is the little matter of what "best" really means. One thousand different people may have precisely one thousand different interpretations. Nevertheless, let's explore further.

A Short Story From The Future
Even back then, I knew it was going to happen: one would die, the other - born. Few saw it coming, but that's okay: that's the way of things.
Sometimes, you may collect stuff that you think you may need, but right now, you're not sure why. Then, later, when disparate bits and pieces come together, you understand why you did what you did.
First you need a big problem. That also creates opportunity.
Second you need pain - the pain that results from your big problem.
Third, bring different people together, who see things differently, and who passionately care. Mix them up and see what happens. That's Eureka!
Because … you're starting to join the dots, to make connections where previously, there were none. Just flotsam and jetsam floating around the ocean in your mind.
Unleash - is a word we can use.
Unleash the new. What was once quirky becomes the norm.
An acorn is a mighty oak; the only difference: time and environment. Sometimes, time speeds up - on the Web.
Ride a new wave. Try new things. Seeker: you've got to keep searching - until you find it. Then you can wonder for a while.
A fallow field needs its time of rest in order to grow remarkable things later. That's why everything has its time.
In the north, spring is almost here: a buzz of new life in the making. Hobbits are stirring in the glens and vales.
The problems with the old Web, were … everywhere! We knew the first, and second, were now broken. Before, it seemed okay. We didn't know any different back then. But we grew tired of the way things were.
Every good story has heroes; ours too!
At 22:53, on February 4, 2015, everything changed. Though at 22:54 and beyond - for a while at least - it would seem all was still the same.
For others, it happened at different times.
Illusion … it's a funny thing.
How to tell the real? You need to get sensitive; to feel more; to think, ponder, imagine, and yes - to hope, for hope has a power all of its own.
When you feel it, you get it. Never forget that!
The Scottish Highlands: the flapping of a butterfly's wings on a cold night in February - just doesn't happen does it? Yet it did - a symbol in the imagination of what was to come. From worm to wing.
So now, is the time for action, for change, for something better. Things are coming together. The dawn of a new age - perhaps. It's going to get easier, a lot easier.
The key is to be able to spot the gold hiding in a sea of yellow. Get un-puzzled - and yes, make new words if you want. Creativity, imagined worlds, unknowns, untrammelled by technology: that's the point.
Welcome to the web reinvented, re-morphed, reborn; welcome to The Grid. You may remember this day. You won't believe what's going to happen!
