2.3 The owner of this website, Brian Austin, is a Member of The Society of Authors (SoA) in the UK, therefore is able to benefit from the protection and support of the SoA.
The Society of Authors is a non-profit making organization, founded in 1884, "to protect the legal rights and further the interests of authors". The Society now has over 10,000 members.
The Society represents the writing profession by campaigning for improved terms and changes in legislation, such as copyright and libel laws. The Society also carries out inspections of publishers' royalty accounts in relation to randomly-chosen individual authors' titles.
